This begs the question what have you been doing since then? The interviewer wants to see how you handle this question be sure to give a positive twist to your answer. There is a good chance that there may be a reason for the gap between this job and your last, you could have been made redundant, an illness or injury that you had to take time out for. This may have been a member of you family and required you to take the time out to care for them. You may have decided to take a sabbatical and return to start a new career. You should find an answer that demonstrates you were doing something positive like studying volunteering to get a particular experience.
