Measuring CV Quality

Can CV quality be measured?

CV quality is rather more intangible compared to things such as water quality, so it is difficult to measure and quantify. Nevertheless, there are indicators. For example, if you apply for 100 jobs with the same CV without success then this probably means one of three things:

1 – You were beaten by apparently better candidates each and every time
2 – You didn’t meet the criteria for the job
3 – Your CV wasn’t as good as those of some of your competitors

Of the above, the third possibility is the most common. The first possibility is also an interesting one, and especially the ‘apparent’ reference, because it isn’t always the best candidate who gets the job, frequently it is the person with the best CV – it’s a distinct but significant difference!
