In terms of a hands on or hands off type of role think about what the job requires. Is it someone who can pick up the spanner and do the job themselves better than anyone else? Or is it someone who can delegate, giving others the chance? Either because they don't know how to do the job or maybe are not as confident as you to complete the task. Or do you have a style that encourages and empowers and provides the means for others to complete the task even if under supervision?
